Vintage North Caucasus rug, hand-made "Boteh", province Shirvan, a historical Iranian region in the eastern Caucasus. Carpet is made out of 100% sheep wool from the Shirvan region, on cotton warps, natural dyes.
Carpet illustrates "Botehs" - of Paisley pattern, variously described as a stylized leaf, pear, pine. With a central medallion. The rug is a very fine piece of art.
